It was a productive end to a busy busy month and it was also very enjoyable!
I got to catch up with my long lost love Dexter and find out what crazy shenanigans he has in store for me. Was very happy with the new twists and turns that I got to catch previews of at the end of the season premiere. The end of the episode was pretty hard core, I mean, he’s gonna have to come clean to Deb??? Say what???
I worked on multiple Smash Book pages, including one on “National Cheeseburger Day” which I thought turned out quite nice!
The wheels are spinning for the next one which focuses on “Never underestimating the power of a cursively written Thank you Note”.
Wedding crafting galore has taken place, complete with multiple pinterest inspired projects.
Including “Love” wine bottles coated in spray paint,
cursively handwritten bridal shower thank you notes complete with custom stamping and washi tape,
blue and green tinted/stained repurposed glass bottles made with modge podge and food coloring
and assembly of our centerpiece, it seems all of the pieces have finally come together!
I’ve discovered just how incredibly popular #FMSphotoaday really is and have followed through with both prompts so far this month. In case you missed it on my last post about it, here’s the list, click on the photo for her blog page:
Day 1 “Where I stood”
(If you click on this photo it will take you to the blog I used for directions for this project, should you be interested!)
While looking at others submissions I found a new iphone app that I think is absolutely wonderful, called “over” which lets you place words over your photos, choosing alignment, fonts, sizing, etc….
I have also been enjoying adding “vintique” filters to my instagram photos, which is another app I have discovered in the last week or so. I really like the added effects it has, especially when combined with the instagram filters. I used vintique, over, instagram and diptic on todays “Day 2″‘s photo submission.
Day 2 “Lunchtime”
Today I worked on my new wedding list, the RSVPed attending, meal selection, table number, song suggestion list and came to realize with exactly one week left until the “due date” that about 75 percent of those invited have yet to respond… Mildly concerning, but I am hopeful that my mailbox will be filled to the brim with vintage stamp covered craft paper envelopes tomorrow! I was saddened and pretty much moped my way back up to the house today upon discovering that today was a day that none had come.
Many more things left on the list of course, place cards are the next big mission and because I’ve been so darn crafty and thoughtful thus far, no way will simple, ink jet printed cream colored simplicity work at this point, I am going to have to concoct something worthy of our affair, focus on that tomorrow!
Picked up two incredibly lovely vintage props “for the wedding” (oh yes, it has begun and I am deep in the “everything can be justified with “for the wedding” phase”) I am thinking of it as a reward for all of my hardwork 🙂 Etsy was a good friend to me this weekend and the sweet shops of “littlepart” and “frenchhen1”.
Vintage Tool Box (This photo does not do it justice!)
Vintage Smith Corona Portable Typewriter
Going to use the tool box possibly on the backdrop for the ceremony or on the guestbook table. The typewriter I am going to put on the guest book table as well, think it will be fun to give guests the option to type their message (although I would naturally prefer cursive) typewriter is the next best thing though! Plus they just look cool, who can resist an old fashioned type writer? I mean I am old enough that I actually took a TYPING class in the 7th grade, I was damn good at it too lol, I looked forward to that class, I will always be a nerd. My sister got a fancy ELECTRIC typewriter for her highschool graduation, complete with the little digital 3in. calculator like “display”, my sister is 10 years older than me and I was seven at the time, I was SO jealous of her that day I could barely stand it!
One last tidbit, I am EAGERLY awaiting the arrival of my new Polaroid z2300 camera
that I ordered from Urban Outfitters (because I had to have the white one…) that I will be using as part of our Polaroid/Smashbook/Wedding Guestbook. What’s that you ask? Stay tuned and you shall most certainly find out!
